Today, many of our Veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan are facing economic conditions that lead to unemployment and underemployment. The lack of job opportunities, combined with the trauma of combat and the stress of transitioning into civilian life, leads many returning Veterans to substance abuse, poverty, homelessness, mental illness, and even suicide.
Compounding this problem is the educational debt burden created by gaps and loopholes in the G.I. Bill as well as other Veteran education benefits programs. In order to mitigate these issues Leave No Veteran Behind offers programs created by Veterans for Veterans. Leave No Veteran Behind provides employment training opportunities for Veterans who are seeking to enter the civilian workforce. The organization also provides a retroactive scholarship that pays off the student loans of Veterans who have completed some form of higher education. Whether through volunteering, becoming a community partner, or simply donating, there are many ways to help us accomplish our mission.
