Leave No Veteran Behind Scotch Tasting 2015

November weather couldn’t dampen the festive spirit as guests mingled at Benny’s Chop House during Leave No Veteran Behind’s 2015 Scotch Tasting.

Mouthwatering Hors d’oeuvres paired with Bruichladdich Scotch made for a great time. The raffles proved to be one of the highlights of the evening, which included a weekend’s stay at The Hard Rock Hotel.  That night we also announced our Give 10 Campaign encouraging contributors to join Team LNVB and assist us in ensuring the success of Veterans as assets within our communities. Thanks to all of those who attended!

The 2015 Investment Forum

The 2015 Leave No Veteran Behind Investment Forum was one to remember. A packed house, great music and a festive time made this event a huge success! Held at the Hard Rock Hotel, the highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Community Builder Award to William Lowry Jr., for his exceptional generosity and service to Chicago’s Veteran community.

We are grateful for the community’s support in our efforts to make positive impact within the Veteran community. Be on the lookout for information on upcoming events.

Leave No Veteran Behind Impact Panel 2015

Thursday, May 14, 2015 ι United States Navy Memorial ι Washington, DC

LNVB Impact Panel

This year’s topic, “Creating Veteran Pipelines Into Civic Solutions,” addressed ways businesses, legislative leaders and community members can leverage veterans as assets in communities across America. While their military service is lauded, veterans often return to communities and confront barriers to employment and community engagement. Panelists illustrated how leadership and technical skills acquired in the military can translate into the civic sphere. LNVB seeks to reframe the conversation around traditional notions and expectations of veterans and how these individuals can serve as innovative resources for community efforts, business solutions, and social enterprises.

2015 Impact Panel Panelists

The discussion was moderated by Eli Williamson, President/Co-Founder of LNVB, Director of the McCormick Foundation’s Veterans Program, and Army Veteran. The panelists included:

  • Rosye B. Cloud – Senior Advisor for Veteran Employment and Acting Director of Office of Transition, Employment, and Economic Impact,
U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs
  • Justin Ford – General Manager, Dog Tag Bakery, Inc .
  • Abdul Henderson – Executive Director, Congressional Black Caucus
  • Dana Hendrickson – Director, Outreach and Advocacy for Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs

Sponsored by: BET, UTC, and Rockwell Collins.
